I love coffee and drink it every day. But, now when the summer is here and the days are really hot I can't drink hot drinks, such as coffee. When I moved here four years ago I couldn't stand drinking cold coffee, iced coffee or iced tea. I continued to drink my hot coffee but it did't taste as good in the middle of July or August. I went back to trying an iced coffee and struggled a couple of times and then, finally I started liking it. Now I only drink iced coffee or lattes during the summer months here and it's amazing.

So, yesterday I told you that I put left over coffee in an ice tray and put it in the freezer. Today we took the coffee ice cubes and put in a glass and poured milk over it. You can use your favorite milk, I like coconut milk and you can also use a milk with a vanilla flavor to make it even better. This is so good. Yum!

I also would like to make a lavender latte. I love lavender and want to add it to everything basically, baking, drinks, candy and so on. I just need to find some good lavender and maybe do a syrup with it that can be added to drinks, such as coffee or a cocktail.

The next thing I want to try is the chocolate ice cubes. I think these cubes will be so tasty and the perfect companion for a cold-brew coffee.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

  • 2 cups water

  • 1/4 cup agave syrup

Steps:

  1. Place all ingredients in a heavy-bottom pan and whisk until combined. Bring to a simmer and remove from heat.

  2. Let mix cool completely and place in ice cube trays.

  3. Remove from trays and serve with your favorite drink (or even munch on them!)

We started our Wednesday with a long walk, almost down to the beach. The air is so fresh and it helps me to feel more awake. But, even though the weather is nice and you can walk in the early morning with only tights and a long sleeved top or t-shirt, I can't wait for the real summer to arrive. June is a tricky month here with gloomy days and clouds before noon, but in July the weather will be perfect.

When we got home I put on a pot of water and we did our french press coffee. I added some foamed milk to make a latte. Have some things to do before 2pm today and then I'm meeting with one of Kioskeds founder to take some photos for an article. Kiosked is a really cool company that works with advertisement. They started in Finland but are now global and has offices in many cool cities such as Los Angeles, Singapore, London and Tokyo and more.

Some effective meetings at Sunset Plaza with Caffe Primos amazing juice and ice cream. I love their juices! It's a great spot for meetings in LA. Somewhat central, nice and busy neighborhood and easy access. They also have some good shopping and other restaurants. I recommend Le Petit Four. They have great food and it's perfect for a week night!

We started our Thursday morning with a long walk in the sun. I can finally wear shorts and a tanktop during our walks. My muscles are so soar from yesterdays mini walk/run/workout that I'm having a hard time moving if I sit still for to long. When we got back I drank my appelcider vinegar drink and started on breakfast, porridge. Since I'm allergic to gluten and also react to glutenfree oatmeal I had tried many different options and the one I like the most, which also is the healtiest one is amaranth. It takes some time but the result is really good and your body will get so much energy and nutrition from ot. I eat mine with a squeeze of raw honey or agave, coconut oil and milk.
