It's a dark chocolate taste and not too sweet, but intense and deep in flavor. I prefer making my own sauce instead of buying since it's so simple and no unnecessary preservatives. Also, the recipe is so simple, it's a 1, 2, 3 recipe just like when you pickle things. 1 cup cacao, 2 cups sugar and 3 cups water (any measurements works as long as it's the same ratio). Let it boil, and it you like it really loose 10 minutes is fine but I like it thicker so I usually boil mine for 30 minutes or more, until I get the consistency I want.
